Last night, the internet did what the internet does best . . . erupted.
This time, it wasn’t over a cat video or a new Marvel trailer. It was Trump and Elon Musk going at it like two heavyweight egos in a digital boxing match.
A few jabs here, some passive-aggressive tweets there, and the next thing you know, folks are picking sides, hot takes are flying, and everyone’s got an opinion. Again.
And while I could easily roll my eyes and scroll on (and trust me, I tried), I found myself thinking: Why does this kind of thing grab so much of our attention?
Why are we so quick to look to people like Trump or Elon, as if their next move, next idea, or next breakdown will somehow shape our salvation?
Let’s be real: these guys are powerful, influential, and rich beyond imagination. But they’re still just men. Broken. Flawed. Prideful.
And the Word of God has something to say about that.
“It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.” – Psalm 118:8 (ESV)
“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” – Proverbs 16:18 (ESV)
The truth is, when we put too much stock in political figures, tech giants, or cultural icons, we set ourselves up for disappointment. They fight. They fail. They fall.
Meanwhile, Jesus remains the same. Steady. Sovereign. Silent in the noise, but speaking if we’re still enough to hear Him.
I don’t know what this feud will lead to—a meme war, a lawsuit, or just more chaos in the comment sections—but I know this:
I’m not building my life on a billionaire.
Not on a president.
Not on a platform.
But on a Savior who didn’t flex His power… He laid it down for me.
So here’s your reminder, friend: don’t let the drama of the world steal your peace. Let it point you back to the only One worth anchoring to.
Because when men get loud, prideful, and messy…
Jesus is still King.
And He doesn’t need a platform.
Just your heart.
