Who I Am

Hey there, I’m Andrew! I’m a husband, dad, author, and pastor living with my family in the Thumb of Michigan. I serve as Senior Pastor at Snover Heritage Church, and I also share encouragement online through my writing:

  • EmberFaith – my faith-based platform where I share devotionals, studies, and encouragement to help people live out their faith daily.

  • 1787 Dispatch – a platform I helped found and contribute to, focused on news, culture, and stories through the lens of faith, family, and country. (coming soon!)

  • awyates.com – my personal blog where I write real, relatable, and faith-centered reflections on life, family, and community.

At the heart of everything I do is a passion for faith, storytelling, and community.

My Professional Life

Before stepping into full-time ministry, I spent several years in the private sector focused on business growth, development, sales, marketing, and franchising. During that time, I had the opportunity to work with a variety of service-based businesses—helping them grow, build stronger teams, and expand their reach.

That experience gave me a front-row seat to how the right strategy, leadership, and support can completely transform a business.

Leveraging my experience in business development, I also provide franchise consulting services, helping both sides of the franchise world:

  • Business owners who are ready to expand through franchising.

  • Entrepreneurs who want to be in business for themselves, but not by themselves.

It’s incredibly rewarding to help people take the next step—whether that’s scaling a great business or stepping into the world of ownership with the right franchise model and support.

What I'm About

Through Emberfaith and pastoral work, my mission is pretty simple: point people to Jesus. Whether that’s sharing scripture, writing devotionals, or simply walking with people through life, I believe faith is meant to be lived out in real and practical ways.

Life at Home

When I’m not writing or serving at church, life is happily chaotic thanks to our two young kids. They’re full of energy, excitement, curiosity—and just enough sass to keep us on our toes. My wife and I wouldn’t trade it for anything (though a little more sleep would be nice). Family life keeps me grounded, gives me plenty of stories to tell, and reminds me daily of God’s goodness in the small, everyday moments.
